athenahealth, an EHR vendor, has launched athenaOne Voice assistant Powered by Nuance. This voice-driven application aims to reduce clinician burnout and improve the patient experience.
Voice Assistant is a command-based virtual assistant that was developed by athenahealth EHR. It's powered by Nuance’s Dragon Medical technology. The technology allows providers to create draft orders, review their schedules, retrieve clinical data and document exams.
This technology can be used with the athenaOne mobile application and athenaOne dictation Powered by Nuance. It allows providers to dictate medical documentation naturally and accurately.
As part of the platform R&D organisation, Athrayil Kalathil is responsible for leading several engineering teams that work on platform experience. She was previously part of the ambulatory management organization where she managed the clinical zone engineering teams for the athenaPractice platform. She is currently based in Bengaluru, India.
Athrayil Kalathil, a member of the EHR vendor's Women's Leadership Forum, is also a leader in the Women in Technology subcommittee at athenahealth in Bengaluru. Athrayil Kalathil's focus is on building a strong culture and workplace community through workshops, discussion forums and fireside chats.
Bela Labovitch was vice president of engineering at athenaCollector and received the HBA Luminary Award.

Labovitch is an active supporter of the Women's Leadership Forum, an EHR vendor. Labovitch is an active supporter of Girls Who Code, an athenaGives non-profit partner and mentorship program focusing on closing the technology gender gap.
Labovitch is the program's Women in Technology leader. This program focuses on developing and supporting athenahealth's female IT talent.
Athenahealth's leadership has greatly improved its athenaCollector Engineering Organization. athenaCollector provides a vendor's complete revenue cycle and practice management services. Labovitch has been leading the EHR vendor's participation to industry standards efforts for the past year.
HBA awarded athenahealth the Ambassador Impact Award in recognition of its outstanding initiatives. This award recognizes those who have implemented the Ambassador Programs in 2021.
HBA specifically recognized athenahealth as a standardizer of Employee Resource Group (ERG).
Allyson Livingstone, executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion at athenahealth, and Laura Jennings (manager of billing rules), led the initiative.
